What should i say to my stepmom

my father just ped away tues. and I haven't spoken to my step mom yet because I don't know what to say? we aren't really that close but i know my dads request was that we keep in touch with her and help her but i don't know what to say.. will she still consider me part of the family? I feel kind of weird about asking her. any suggestions would be helpful.
