Whas the pro's and con's about cyl and liters on engines?

the more cylinders, the more gas it consumes. Larger engines generally have more cylinders. However, they almost always have more horsepower than their 4 cylinder counterparts, which are smaller. However, because they are smaller, they don't use as much gas.
